About Me
I was born in Hamilton Ontario in 1953 and raised in nearby Burlington. I attended, and graduated from, Burlington
Central High School and then immediately moved to Toronto where I attended Humber College in Rexdale and graduated
with a diploma in Computer Programming.
That would've been 1974. I was newly married, living in Milton Ontario and beginning my career in the new business of
Computers. I took to it like a duck takes to water and immediately looked for further education opportunities.
Wife, mortgage and children on the way made full time studies impossible, so I enrolled at the University of
Waterloo and began a part time Bachelor of Mathematics program specializing in Computer Science.
Two children, many moves, jobs, contracts and years later we decided it was time for a change so we relocated to Calgary
Alberta. That was 1990 and I've never regretted it. I attended the University of Calgary from 1994 - 2000 where
I obtained a Masters degree in Software Engineering, again part time, just like my B. Math.
When my wife and I became "empty nesters" we decided to go our separate ways and divorced. I have since met and
married Tracy, a marvellous woman of many talents, not the least of which is training horses. We purchased 30 acres of
raw land about an hours drive north east of Calgary and are building our future together. When I say building, I mean it
literally seeing as we are building our house ourselves, framing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. We have to build
while still taking care of our 3 horses, 4 cats and a dog. Click on the "House" button to the left to see our
progress.
Being in the Software Development business for 4 decades now, I've seen a lot and learned a lot, both good and bad. At
this stage in my career I've decided to concentrate on what I enjoy and where I get the greatest rewards, that is, helping
others succeed.
